Clinical Sample Collection
The collection of clinical samples will be customized to meet research and biological needs, matching the protocols for studies. The past 15 years of experience providing mobile phlebotomy services in the greater Philadelphia healthcare market has given us access to physicians and patients through established relationships.
Protocols are established for the collection of clinical samples for research and development for new treatments of diseases. Depending on the study, material such as blood, plasma, urine or mucosal swabs may be required. The amounts collected are usually small less than 50ml. Specimens can be processed and sampled to any quantity requested.
A case report and medical history are given by the participant to verify the disease and provide the researcher with demographics that assist in the development. Clinical samples are not used to support the regulatory application for the clinical trial therefore requiring less documentation.
Studies last as long as is required to collect the number of specimens required by the research company. Some projects can take years to complete. Others are completed in less than 30 days.
